Follicular Unit Extraction FUE
The Follicular Unit Extraction FUE is one of the two modern hair transplant techniques. FUE is a minimally invasive hair restoration technique that demands professionalism, experience and precision to achieve the best result.

How does FUE work?
FUE hair transplant method
- Donor Area Identification: During the assessment/consultation prior to the surgery the donor region is assessed for suitability and shaved to size 1/2 to prepare for follicular harvesting.
- Harvesting FUE grafts: Individual follicular grafts are harvested from the donor area (each follicle containing between 2 to 4 grafts) by extracting the hair.
- Stored in Nutrient Solution: The harvested follicular grafts are placed in a nutrient solution, which ensure they are kept safely and nutrient until they are implanted.
- Implanting FUE grafts: The follicles are then carefully implanted into the affected areas to ensure high density of your hair.
This method greatly improves the survival rate of the newly transplanted grafts. FUE has been proven exceptionally effective method for hair transplant.
Facial Hair (Beard/moustache) Transplants
Facial Hair Transplants – in this case Beard Restoration specifically – saw a significant increase around the world over the past year. Beard transplants, just as goatee, moustache, sideburn or eyebrow transplants, are specialist procedures, with outcomes highly dependant on the surgeon’s skills.
Facial hair growth, or lack thereof, and patchiness may be a result of either scarring or genetics. A recent study found that as many as 45% of men have been unhappy with the patchiness throughout their beard and sideburns.
For many cultures, facial hair is a sign of prestige and masculinity.
Men are now seeking versatility in their facial hair. The ability to grow a full and dense beard to desiring designer stubble or a statement moustache allows them to change their look and presence whenever they like.
How does the FUE Beard Transplant procedure works?
The Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) procedure, as used for hair transplants, is also utilised in Beard, Moustache, Goatee and Sideburn Hair Transplants. This method is a minimally invasive procedure used to restore hair density on different areas of the face. The procedure can take between three and nine hours – depending on the area treated and amount of hair required. For example, a goatee may require up to 1,500 hairs, while a full beard may need up to 4,000 hairs.
During the procedure the Surgeon locates the ‘stable zone area’ at the side or back of the head. This is used as the donor area for the beard, moustache or sideburns. Finer hair is typically needed for a Beard Transplant where the donor area is located at the sides of the head. If the patient is balding or is completely bald it is also possible to use body hair such as the chest area for the donor area.
An FUE Beard Transplant is a walk-in walk-out procedure and only local anaesthetic is used to ensure minimal downtime. Once the donor area is located each hair follicle is taken out one at a time using ‘punches’ to cut in and around the follicle. The size of the tools will depend on the size of the follicles required – the finer the hair the smaller the ‘punch’. This part of the process is completed very discretely and will be unnoticeable.
Once this is completed local anaesthetic is administered to the areas of the face for the hair transplant. Careful and skilful attention is used to ensure the extracted hairs are then implanted, one follicle at a time, at the right angle to give highest density and most natural looking results.
Eyebrow Transplants
Eyebrows can be missing or thinning for a number of different reasons, such as over-plucking, alopecia, scars caused by facial injury or burns, or even from natural ageing.

How does an eyebrow transplant work?
An eyebrow transplant is a procedure, similar to a hair transplant that works to reconstruct your eyebrows. The process works by taking donor hair from the scalp and transplanting it to the eyebrows to help achieve a fuller brow.
Donor hair is extracted from the back of the scalp, using the FUE technique, and then prepared under a microscope to extract the single follicular units.
After this, the donor hair is inserted into thinning areas in the eyebrows, or around the whole brow area to create natural-looking eyebrows using a 23 gauge hypodermic needle under a high magnification microscope.
Eyebrow hair transplant is a very delicate procedure, requiring perfect placement of the hairs into tiny incisions that are angled at just the right direction and positioned to mimic natural growth. No scalpels are needed and no stitches are required. The procedure is 100% micro-surgical. Patients will regain their natural growing eyebrows with no side effects.

Women Hair Transplant
Female hair loss can have a dismaying or even devastating influence on a woman’s quality of life, not least because hair loss is, often wrongly considered, a less significant psychological and emotional problem for women than it is for men. Too often, a woman’s hair loss is not taken seriously by family or friends or even by a woman’s personal physician.
While hair loss itself can present psychological and emotional problems for a woman, failure of others to recognise the seriousness of these problems, may contribute to psychological and emotional effects that can range from decreased self-esteem to anxiety and depression.
Female hair loss may also be overlooked as a “normal” phenomenon. Gradual hair loss is often associated with ageing. Temporary hair loss is often associated with pregnancy. Very often, women have pattern hair loss that “runs in the family”.
Hair loss in a woman should never be considered “normal”; however, the cause should be pursued until a diagnosis is established. Of the many causes of hair loss in women, only a few such as ageing, hormonal changes associated with pregnancy and hereditary pattern hair loss may be considered “normal”. Treatment is available for hair loss due to these conditions, and treatment should be considered when hair loss influences the woman’s quality of life.
Are male and female hair loss the same?
No. Female hair loss doesn’t follow the same path as male hair loss.
Women’s hair loss happens due to the miniaturisation of the hair (a smaller diameter of the hair strand). It usually begins around the crown and sufferers may notice a widening of the part. Unlike with men’s hair loss, women will not suffer complete baldness or see a retreat across their hairline.
Direct Hair Implantation DHI
The DHI hair transplant is the best technique to achieve the most natural and successful results. Especially because it is the most recent capillary surgery procedure.
What is the direct hair implantation surgery ?
In the DHI method, the process is different from the other hair implants surgery techniques. The grafts are removed as usual from the donor area and then enriched in a special nutrient solution. The innovation comes from the use of a Choi Implanter Pen, thanks this tool the grafts are transplanted directly. Thus allowing site creation and graft implantation to be performed simultaneously.
Hence why the DHI is also called the Choi method, with it the need of creating channel incisions in the donor area are now a thing of the past. On the other hand this process is much more time-consuming and only possible up to a certain number of grafts. For this reason we always offer our customers a free capillary diagnostic.
